Move to Hosted Server

September 16, 2005 on 2:55 pm | In Admin Information | Print Print | No Comments

This website has now moved to a new hosted server today. This move was made for several reasons:

  • continued availability of storage space
  • faster access through dedicated servers
  • easier accessibility to all areas of the site

Hopefully, if everything has transferred correctly, and there is nothing to indicate that this isn’t the case, you will not have noticed any difference in availability or accessibility of the site during the transition. Apologies if there have been problems today.

This transition has cost about £100, which is why there is now the option to donate to the upkeep of the site via the Paypal Donate button on the right. You are not required to make any payment to use this site, however if you find it invaluable then please consider making a small donation to the running costs - Thank You.

New Category - Prescribing Formulary

August 24, 2005 on 3:55 pm | In Admin Information | Print Print | No Comments

A new Category has been added to the site today. Prescribing Formulary is available with immediate effect in the sidebar menus to the left of the page.

This section of the site will collate information into a single topic area regarding the prescribing of medicines in discreet disease areas. The collection of articles will grow over time and will be revised when there are changes in the evidence base or in current practice.

For example, the two articles that have been published to launch this new section cover prescribing of Antiplatelets and Statins. You can subscribe for free to notifications of new articles by following these instructions.

Important Information

June 23, 2005 on 4:08 pm | In Admin Information | Print Print | No Comments

Welcome to my blog (or web log).

I work for the NHS (National Health Service) in the North West of England. In my work I advise doctors on medicines, appraising the usefulness of each product against those already available.

This blog aims to publish the prescribing information I produce in my NHS work for ease of access and to enable searching. As such the content will be a brief resume rather than a complete revie of all of the evidence.

The content of this site should be read in conjunction with the appropriate Guideline (links will be available in the articles) and it should be noted that this sites interpretation of the evidence will apply to the majority of people for the majority of the time. However, there will always be exceptions where clinical discretion should be used.

The content of this blog will regularly change so please check back or subscribe to our RSS feed
