Calcipotriol ointment discontinued

The manufacturer of Calcipotriol ointment (Dovonex®) has announced that this product is to be discontinued with effect from the 16th of April 2007.

The product is being discontinued for commercial reasons. Stocks may remain available in the supply chain beyond this date. The cream formulation of the product will remain available.

Action: Clinicians should identify patients who are currently being prescribed the ointment and amend prescriptions to a suitable alternative.
