ORACLE Study Statement
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency has issued a statement in response to the publication of the seven-year follow up of the ORACLE study.
The statement has been issued jointly with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. It states that, "Pregnant women should not be concerned about taking antibiotics to treat infections. Antibiotics save lives, and pregnant women with possible or obvious infections must be considered for treatment with antibiotics".
Action: This statement can be used to reassure patients who may be alarmed by the publication of this study.

I am glad to see this report come forward. We have been doing research and gathering information from Seroxat patients all over the world. Currently we are in Scotland at the International Medical conference. We also have added Seroxat (SSRi's) and the problem with withdrawal as a MAJOR public health issue to the University of Arizona. The time is past due for docs and patients to be aware of this problem and the lives it is taking. School violence, suicide, families torn apart...what do you do if you are in a hurricane or other crises and don't have your Paxil tablets? Please step in. The FDA is now looking into the hazards here in the US. We recently met with the Deputy Surgeon General for over an hour. We have to educate the healthcare associations for help. GSK refuses to cooperate. We have contacted them many times...all we ever receive are "claim forms". Big pharma should not be allowed to take over our regulating agencies.
