Drug Safety Update - January 2009
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has published Drug Safety Update for January 2009 (PDF).
This issue contains a reminder that Yellow Cards can be submitted for unlicensed medicines and drug safety advice in the following areas:
- Piperacillin/tazobactam: compatibility of generics differs from brand leader (Tazocin)
- Temsirolimus: severe hypersensitivity reactions during infusion
- Tacrolimus (Advagraf and Prograf): risk of serious medication errors
Action: Clinicians will find this publication to be a useful review of current issues in drug safety.
